This series of case studies highlights instances where the SUE consortia have successfully impacted upon the world beyond academia. These case studies show that their dissemination and engagement efforts are yielding significant benefits, both for the researchers and for sustainability practitioners, as well as promoting environmental sustainability throughout the UK and beyond. The Success Stories also provide useful knowledge transfer recommendations based on the lessons learnt from the SUE consortia.
AMELIA (part of AUNT SUE)
This report examines the impacts of the collaboration between the research team and Hertfordshire County Council. Successful collaboration with Hertfordshire County Council meant the AMELIA tool impacted on policy decisions in the area of accessibility as well as providing evidence of cost effective decision making. |

HADRIAN (part of AUNT SUE)
This report studies the impacts of the collaboration between the HADRIAN research team and Transport for London. HADRIAN recommends ways in which journey planners could be adapted to reduce stress for disabled people travelling by public transport. These suggestions formed an inclusive or “I-Journey Planner” which was taken up by Transport for London. |

DISTILLATE
This report examines how DISTILLATE's two pronged approach to knowledge exchange (engagement with local authorities and the UK transport industry) led to the research outputs becoming part of UK transport planners’ working practices. |

Eastside Sustainability
This case study highlights the permanent impact a knowledge exchange partnership between the academic research team and redevelopment firm ISIS had on the working practices of the firm, its stakeholders, and in turn, the practitioner community. |

IDCOP
This study is focused on the impact of one activity within the IDCOP project which has expanded beyond the project into the on-going development of the Sustainable Built Enviroment Tool (SuBET) tool. SuBET is a sustainable masterplanning tool which will be used to guide the future design of exemplar planning and development schemes. |

SOLUTIONS
This investigation focuses on the impacts of the Freiburg study tours, conducted by WHO and Gabriel Scally, Regional Director of Public Health for SW England. The main impact of the tours was to create a shared vision and network of senior leadership who were connected with sustainable living in the South West of England. |

Urban Futures
This report examines how Urban Futures' close involvement with steering group partners – specifically the Environment Agency and environmental consultants CH2M HILL – led to the uptake and adaptation of the project's outputs. |
