EPSRC-ISSUES SUE Workshop
September 21st 2007, RIBA,
London
event aim
This
joint EPSRC-ISSUES event brought together key representatives
of EPSRC'S SUE1 and SUE2 research consortia to present
their research and discuss ways to improve the effectiveness
of knowledge transfer from the consortia to stakeholders
and practitioners.
event summary
In the morning session, run by EPSRC, the consortia were
given 10 minutes to present their planned or completed research, having
completed written summaries in advance. The written summaries can be found below.
In the afternoon session the dissemination methods and
strategies used by SUE consortia were explored through a series of short,
structured discussion sessions facilitated by the ISSUES team.
The four questions addressed by the sessions were:
- How do you get good engagement with project partners?
- How do you reach wider stakeholders with whom you have no
direct contact?
- What training and skills might improve knowledge
transfer?
- What other Knowledge Transfer support / funding /
approaches might be useful?
Each group reported back at the end of the session, with all
participants noting their ideas and comments on cards, which were collected at
the end of the day. The feedback gathered from these sessions was used to
produce a poster (see below) which has been sent out to
the consortia. If you would like a hard copy please contact the ISSUES Team.
Participants were also asked to anonymously score how well
they thought the SUE programme was meeting its objectives. These results form
part of the full report from the day that can be found below.
